Origin:
Bandhani is also known as Bandhej. It is a tie and dye method practiced mainly in states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and parts of Uttar Pradesh. It features various designs ranging from floral to animal patterns.
Pattern Details:
Ajrak printing originated from Kutch, Gujarat. A resist- dyeing technique, it involves the use of natural dyes including indigo and madder.
Ornamentation:
Zari work is known for the art of weaving threads in golden and silver colours. It involves the process of twisting a flattened metallic strip, which sometimes is made from pure gold and silver.
